Exploring America is a high school level American history curriculum that presents American history with a respect and faith in God's word. Not only will your child study American history, he'll also study American literature as well as the Bible. This will allow you to give your child 3 high school credits through one curriculum. Your child will earn 1 American history credit, 1 English (language and composition) credit as well 1 Bible credit.
Exploring America is written to the student and is organized in such a way that the student will be able to work independently. The student will be expected to read the lesson in the book as well as the assigned reading from the book list. There will also be reading assignments from American Voices -- a collection of historical writings. Each week there will be writing assignments as well as 4 grammar points. One day each week is set aside for Bible study. This Bible study is designed to complement the period of American history being studied. There are discussion questions that can be done orally or in writing. This is an intensive course that is perfectly suited for most high school students being taught at home.
Everything you need to get started is in the Exploring America package except a Bible and the literature books listed below. Each of the 3 volumes in the package are perfect bound. If you would like for your student to take the quizzes and exams, that must be purchased separately as well.
