You can tell a curriculum is good if you learn something new in the opening pages. I've looked at a lot of Latin books. I've used quite a few over the years. I never studied Latin before we started home schooling. There were just some things I didn't understand. I could memorize the vocabulary and even understand the grammar but there has been some gnawing questions that I didn't know the answers to. As I looked through Latin Alive! I saw the answer to these questions within the first couple of lessons.
As with all of Classical Academic Press's products, Laitn Alive! is presented in a very student friendly, teacher friendly format. It doesn't assume you know anything but doesn't dwell on the topic so long that you get bored. It gives you the right information at the right time in the right amounts. Whether you've studied Latin before or this is your first time, you're going to love Latin Alive! Not only will your studenta (and yourself) learn Latin vocabulary and grammar, you will also learn Roman history, culture and mythology. But that's not all. A great help and motivator for the student and the teacher. Lessons are approximately 30 minutes and take some of the pressure off Mom to present the lesson in an interesting way. To have someone teach that loves the subject is a great asset.
