Beyond Five In A Row takes the original series to the next level. Intended for ages 8-12, it will introduce your child to the joys of chapter books. They are at an age that requires more complicated stories with characters that will be more and more real to them as the progress through the book. This is also an age when children begin reading more on their own. It's important that parents and teachers see to it that the books they read are worthy of reading. The characters need to be ones the children can connect with and be inspired by. The books need to be the best. That's what you'll find in Beyond Five in A Row.
Not only will your children learn about geography, history, science and language arts, they will even have the opportunity to use the internet, their drama skills, explore career paths and experiment with art and cooking. The only thing you need to add to make their school experience complete is a good solid math curriculum and grammar, spelling and handwriting.
Just like Five in A Row, you can enjoy the books cuddled up on the couch together, or if your child is the more independent type, you can assign reading to them on their own. Either way, you will both enjoy digging deeper into the books and learning all about the world the characters are from.
There are 3 volumes to Beyond Five In A Row and each one should last about a semester. Each volume has 2 fiction chapter books and 2 non-fiction chapter books. Click on the book covers below to see which books each volume uses.
