Here is a wonderful yet under used book from Critical Thinking Books and Software. If you are interested in your child becoming an independent learner, this book will help both of you get started. Each week your child will write down his daily assignments as well as a weekly goal. Each day your child will evaluate how he did on completing his assignments. At the end of the week he will evaluate how he did on attaining his goal. During the week, there are study aids for your child to apply to his studies. My son used this in the 8th grade to help prepare him for his high school years.
